Asp net gridview rowupdating event not firing

As I said, I create the Grid View controls dinamically, I don't have asp tags with the Gidview control. In fact, the first thing I tried was this protected void Page_Load(object sender, Event Args e) public void DT() protected void GView_Row Updating(object sender, Grid View Update Event Args e) protected void GView_Row Canceling Edit(object sender, Grid View Cancel Edit Event Args e) private void Bind Data() if I execute the method DT when Is Post Back then when the gridview enters in Edit Mode and I tried to Update the cells, the Row Updating never fires and after the post back the gridview keeps on edit mode without my changes, but I need to execute this method when is Post Back, in other way the gridview control fade away. NET 2.0 app that is running under sharepoint 2000 (yes the old sharepoint) in IIS. Because of this, session state and view state are disabled. I'm manually wiring up a Grid View control in my app, but the Row Updating doesn't fire when clicking Update. It's as if the Grid View thinks the first link button in the row that was clicked, "Update", is actually "Edit", which is also the first control in the row. Basically, it doesn't remember that it's in edit mode. Aaron I should have been more specific as to why I need the Row Updated to fire.It looks Row Updated event will not fire unless I use a Data Source ID, which I am not.

The updating event fires, but the updated event does not fire. I've also tried everything I can find on the web including Old Values Parameter Format String="original_" and Old Values Parameter Format String="" as well as the default, leaving it out all t... I got to the point where I thought I'd just try random things. The first thing I tried was setting Enable View State to true on the grid (I'd switched it off previously). When the row is in edit mode i display a checkbox and textbox. I have a gridview control and I have added a row click event which causes a post back. When I take a standard Grid View, bind it to a Data Table and dynamically wrap it in an Update Panel at run-time, the Row Updating event stops firing my handler.
